My partner and I manage a finance company with 30 employees, each one at a PC with access to the internet. We have been using OCM's SecuredIM system for about 3 years. SecuredIM allows us to set up separate groups for selective communications. Our Collection manager is able to notify his collection team with a quick broadcast and everyone receives it! This is an excellent on the fly communication tool! We can also broadcast to the entire staff and instantly everyone is informed. I would never try this with a 'public' messaging client. There is no security and my employees would never stop chatting!

My partner and I send files back and forth to each other because it's way easier and much more secure than email for quick sharing! When I need to get files to my buyers I attach and send and they respond when they received it. for internal file sharing and confirmation, this is much quicker than email .

Which brings me to the peace of mind part. At any time I can review my employee chat logs searching for funny business and inappropriate conversation, and the best complement to that is our ability to store screen shots from each of our employees PC's. (adjustable time periods, Sweet!) This allows us to confirm they are sticking to task and not surfing during work periods. Every manager needs this tool!!!
